HR Lead/Health Care Assistant

I was born and raised in the Philippines, where strong community values and meaningful connections shaped who I am today. Early in life, I developed a strong interest in engaging with others, which naturally guided me toward a career centered on working with people. Working in office environments and engaging with diverse individuals has always been more than a job for me—it’s a true passion. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have over five years of experience in Human Resources, with a specialization in employee engagement. I am passionate about fostering positive workplace cultures where people feel valued, supported, and motivated. My experience includes strengthening employee relations, developing engagement initiatives, and contributing to environments where individuals and teams can thrive. With a strong desire to grow professionally and gain international experience, I moved to Canada to pursue a Diploma in Business Administration at the University of Victoria. This step allowed me to expand my knowledge in leadership, organizational development, and business operations while adapting to a new cultural and professional landscape. In addition, I am a Registered Health Care Aide, a role that has been incredibly meaningful in shaping my compassionate and people-centered approach. Through this experience, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals with dignity, patience, and empathy during some of their most vulnerable moments. It has strengthened my ability to listen deeply, respond with kindness, and provide care that goes beyond physical support—focusing on emotional well-being, respect, and human connection. As both a mother and a daughter, I understand the depth of love, care, and support that individuals deserve within families, which further strengthens my ability to connect with others on a deep human level. This role has not only enhanced my caregiving skills but has also reinforced my belief in treating every person with genuine compassion and understanding. My diverse background in psychology, human resources, business, and healthcare allows me to bring a well-rounded and empathetic perspective to everything I do. I am known for my strong communication skills, approachable nature, and ability to build trusting relationships in both professional and personal settings. Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with people and building meaningful relationships, whether through casual conversations or shared experiences. I have a strong love for food and enjoy exploring a wide variety of cuisine, trying new dishes, discovering local favorites, and experiencing different cultures through their flavors. I also find joy in nature wandering, whether it’s walking scenic trails, visiting parks, or simply taking in the beauty of the outdoors. I feel incredibly fortunate to be living in Victoria, British Columbia, a place known for its natural beauty and vibrant community. Being surrounded by ocean views, lush greenery, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it even more special to explore, unwind, and create lasting memories with friends and loved ones. At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to creating positive experiences, building meaningful connections, and supporting others in ways that truly make a difference.
